Mixed Media Accordion travel journal

its summer....
vacation time!!
but i still need to create!!


this ones for the first vacation this summer!

its an accordion fold travel journal,
 heres how it went....



gesso'd 2 sides of an 11x14 mixed media paper


some negative stenciling...
after the paint goes down and is still wet,
remove the paint through the stencil with a baby wipe
to reveal the stencil 



some black stenciling for a punch of contrast...



remember both sides of the paper!!

side 2

measure to divide paper in half vertically
and an thirds horizontally


perfect washi tape!!!
it matches!!


tear paper..





layout paper..tape together leaving an 1/8th of an inch between pages





so idid the cover already...
so ready for vacation!!

i stamped & used stickers and neocolor crayons
and gel pens and a stabillo pencil...
all things i can travel with!!!



inside pages ready to go...
can't wait to fill the pages..






and look what i found at the dollar section in micheals!!!
little stamps.. a bag...tiny bags..and birds....
yeah!!! Travel size!!!!

  1. Really fabulous book art and that is a great way to record your vacation too! Gotta love those Michael's deals-I have several sets of those tiny alphabet stamps:) Have a wonderful vaycay!

    1. Hi Nancy Thanks for stopping By!! I used Liquitex Basics paint, light green, light blue,Titanium White, and mars black. I gesso'd the pages so it didn't "set in"...i always use gesso...its its underwear! Ha!
      For the tag book you can click on the link to Donna Downeys's blog and the supply list is there. Also a video, for a different way to assemble first then paint. Good luck & Have fun!!
