" Feet what do I need you for
when I have wings to fly"
- Frida Khalo
Again I decided to reuse my own artwork.
I tried my hand at the transfer technique.
I learned a lot doing this page!
Don't make such a huge transfer!! ( my book is 11x14)
Its a pain to rub the backing off, I'am not very patient!
I used maps for the butterfly's. A little symbolic, but the paper was way to thin.
If I do that again I would back them with card stock or just heavier paper.
The gel pens I used to decorate the butterflies didn't work that great over the gel medium.
But again I'am sure thats just my lack of patients!!
But I finally finished...... I think!!!!
Detail shots;
Maybe I should try to make something that actually has the image of Frida Khalo in it!!
Maybe next week!!!
I think I'am done with butterflies for a while!
Would love to hear your comments!!
Beautiful work, and a lovely quote - thanks for joining in the challenge at AJJ! Valerie

Butterflies and Frida seem to really go together what with how she was constantly being transformed in her life.
ReplyDeleteYour page is wonderful and I enjoyed seeing your work in progress too...I know that takes extra effort to stop and photograph!
