Cool, Crisp, Spooky!!!!
This months theme for Art Journal Journey is Deep in The Forest.......
How great a theme for the fall....
everyone has such different such great idea, heres mine......
Still living & learning!
I saw this on another blog, stamping your stencils...
I thought I would give it a try.....
Didn't work so great!
Have you ever done this? What am I doing wrong?
I still wanted that shape so I hand painted it in,
there was enough for e to see...
Used acrylic glaze with the paint for the background,
I didn't want to lose that roundish shape!!
Added trees....looking up....
Neded something in the trees so I added pencil for texture....
Also added some gelatos (dry) to get more depth of color.....
Now the words...Who Doesn't love Poe!!!!!
And Done!
Enjoy!!!!
Oh great forest picture, looking upward, and I loved to see the progression as you made it. I like the way you have include the quote too. You are right, everyone has such different ideas and yours is another super one.
ReplyDeleteI like the background flowers on your blog too.
Wonderful !
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab fab page!
I don't know if my tip is helpful for stamping with stencils... when I do it I take tweezers to lay down my painted or sprayed stencil down with the colored side-- brayer over it and carefully in one big fast movement take it off with the tweezers again.....
but I think it's more a playing than an exact stamping method for sure ..but it is always a surprise what we get ...
Thank you once again for a great entry to our AJJ Challenge!

Thank you for the advice, I will try it that way. I had trouble with the paint drying fast, and i was trying to work fast...should I have done something to the stencil first?
DeleteStunning work of art
ReplyDeleteDon't know if this will help but I take the paper to the stencil rather than the other way about - a tiny spritz of water may help too

Oh, I absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteFantastic, the end result is really stunning! Valerie
ReplyDeleteLove your page, a bit spooky looking up through the trees. I agree with Crafty Creations suggestion about stamping with stencils. I find using a Ranger Mini Mister gives a light spray that revives any paint that has started drying without making it too wet.
ReplyDeleteI will have to try that, yes the paint seemed to dry so fast, that may be where I went wrong! Live & Learn!!!
DeleteI saw that video too, going to try it. I like what you did with it. I think it's hard to get a deep impression on thin lines, but your spiral had a nice monoprint quality to it. xox
ReplyDeleteGorgeous...I love the depth your process projects! Love it!
